My father built his home on trust. It nearly cost him everything.
He was building with someone he trusted completely, one of his closest friends, a home builder by trade. My dad worked himself to the bone to afford that home in every way he could. His friend even offered to take less profit, calling it a deal between friends.
What looked like a favor turned into a nightmare. A four-month build stretched into almost nine. Hundreds of small mistakes went unchecked, because no one ever came out to walk the site and check the work. We later learned this builder had been operating this way for years, quietly making outsized profits while good families lost months of their lives waiting on homes they'd already paid for.
If my father hadn't understood construction himself, he never would have made it through. After months of delay and frustration, he ended up calling the subcontractors himself just to get his own house finished.
That's the gap I saw growing up: good, hardworking people getting taken advantage of by the people they trusted most. ATL Homes exists to close that gap. Honest builds, real oversight, and a home that gets finished on time, the way it should have been done for my father.
That's why our contract is built with your peace of mind first. We add allowances for change orders, so you have real room to make changes without sacrificing the build. We put steps in place in case something goes wrong along the way. And the extra money we add to the loan for allowances and contingencies carries no profit for us. If it goes unused, that money is yours.
